Team India, stuck in Barbados since winning the T20 World Cup, finally arrived in New Delhi this morning. They were warmly greeted by hundreds of fans at the Indira Gandhi International Airport despite light rain. The players, arriving on a chartered Air India plane, will join Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast. Later today, like Dhoni's 2007 team, Rohit Sharma's victorious squad will enjoy a Mumbai opentop bus ride. Hurricane Beryl had delayed their return after their sevenrun final win against South Africa. The special flight, operated by a Boeing 777200LR named 'Avijit', with the call sign AIC24WC, commemorates India's title triumph. The T20 World Cup marked the end of an era with veteran players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli Ravindra Jadeja all bidding farewell to the format. This tournament was also Rahul Dravid's final assignment as the head coach of the Indian cricket team.
