Join me in the hold at UNPIV, the holding point for 04R in Pisa (LIRP/PSA) as I show you how to setup and fly a circling approach to 22L using my companies operating procedures.

A circling approach is a manoeuvre to align the aircraft with a runway for landing when a straightin landing for the runway in use from an instrument approach is not possible.

Reaching the circling MDA for the approach in use we manoeuvre the aircraft to align with the landing runway. We must maintain the MDA until in a position from which a descent to a landing on the intended runway can be made.
