POCUS: EFAST - Progression free fluid in the Right Upper Quadrant (RUQ)

Often I hear people teach incorrectly that the hepatorenal space is where free fluid first develops in hemoperitoneum but this is incorrect. Free fluid will first accumulate at the inferior tip of the liver before filling that space. This video is a demonstration of that progression.

Make sure to always visualize the inferior tip of the liver when performing an EFAST exam in trauma. This will increase your ability to identify small amounts of developing free fluid.
