The postgame Kanto part of Pokémon Gold and Silver has a bad reputation. But did we all judge it so harshly as kids? By knowing the right order to fight the Kanto league gym leaders and structuring your playthrough around that, the Pokémon Gold/Silver postgame actually becomes sensible and smart.

We may disagree with the designers' choice to make Kanto feel loreaccurate, with low level wild pokemon and Red being crazy overpowered, but it's clear they were going for vision more than what we NOW call "good game design."
