A new Mayor will be elected in Mogale City in the next two weeks following the resignation of the ATM's Danny Thupane as Mayor before a motion of noconfidence against him was tabled by the PAC.

Thupane's decision came after discussions with the ATM and ANC which are coalition partners in Mogale City.

The current speaker, Lucky Sele is tipped to be the new Mayor.
