Ingredients:
7 Quarts of Water
2 Piloncillos
5 Cinnamon Sticks
5 Whole Cloves
10 Oz. Tejocotes (About 15 Tejocotes)
12 Guayabas, Sliced in Half
2 Oranges, Sliced
3 Apples, Sliced
28 oz. Sugar Cane
4 Tamarind Pods, Peeled
Optional: Tequila or Rum
Directions:
1. In a large pot, add the water, cinnamon, piloncillo, cloves, and tejocotes. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the guayabas, oranges, apples, sugar cane, and tamarind. Cover and simmer over mediumlow heat 1 hour, until fruit has softened and is aromatic. Serve warm. Optional, serve with a bit of tequila or rum.
