Watch this video for instructions on how to test the alkalinity of your pool. Alkalinity indicates the water's ability to handle pH changes. Learn how to test alkalinity and what the typical pool alkalinity range is.
To test your HydroWorx pool water's alkalinity, follow these steps using a Taylor test kit:
Fill the comparator with 25 mL of pool water.
Add two drops of R0007 (thiosulfate) and swirl to mix.
Add five drops of R0008 (total alkalinity indicator). The sample will turn green.
Add R0009 (Sulfuric Acid) one drop at a time until the solution turns red. Count the number of drops as you go.
Multiply the number of drops by 10 to determine water alkalinity. The ideal range is 80120.
