Hi everyone! While I know that most of my videos are oil painting, I believe it is the best practice to have "at the ready" any sketching kit. As we approach warmer weather, here in the northern hemisphere, I believe it is important to further develop your observational skill set, even before heading out to plein air paint. Quickening your observational skills will speed up your efficiency while plein air painting. That being said, sometimes it is just not convenient to bring your big set of oils when you have an extra hour here or there. I want to share my suggestions for three kits that I have found to be most useful for me personally. I have been chipping away at the perfect watercolor kit for years. I use the compact size of an airplane tray table to be my point of reference for keeping the kit tight and efficient. This first is my smallest kit.
