Pat gives Mrs Goggins a dog whistle which she explains can only be heard by dogs, not humans. Jess and Bonnie are playing and knock over a big bag of post. In the confusion Pat puts the whistle in his coat pocket. Later, Pat and Jess are enjoying a wellearned break on their rounds. Jess goes inside a tree trunk, chasing after a bird and Pat follows. Jess comes out of the top but Pat is stuck in the tree. Jess rushes off for help. Pat tries to attract the attention of various passers by on the road but because of the position of the tree no one can see him. Jess teams up with Bonnie and they try to get help but no one can understand them. Pat remembers the dog whistle and blows it. Bonnie goes hurtling off, followed by Jess and everyone else. Pat is pulled from the tree by all his friend and thanks them for rescuing him.
