JEERA ALOO RECIPE | Potatoes with Cumin Seeds

Ingredients

2 medium potatoes (aloo), boiled, peeled and cut in cubes
½ tablespoon cumin seeds (jeera)
2 tablespoons oil
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon crushed coriander seeds
½ tablespoon roasted cumin (jeera) powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon asafoetida
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves + for garnishing

Method

1. Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add cumin seeds and salt, mix and sauté till the seeds change colour.
2. Add crushed coriander, cumin powder, chilli powder and asafoetida, mix well and sauté for 12 minutes.
3. Add potatoes and coriander leaves, mix well and cook for 23 minutes.
4. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
