Power of attorney vs Guardianship is an epic battle with you as the only casualty. The answer comes down to who you want to make life decisions for you. Do you want a Court appointed guardianship? Or, do you want to make decisions ahead of time, avoid a guardianship, and appoint someone you implicity trust as your power of attorney and health care power of attorney. We have great judges, but do you really want a judge you have never met making guardianship decisions for you. If you no one steps up, the Court might have to appoint a third party guardianship. Keep in control of your own life with a power of attorney and revocable living trust centered estate plan.
