Powerlifting with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome + Joint Hypermobility: What to expect??

Annie Short Strength

In this video I am answering a question that a follower sent through on Instagram about powerlifting with Ehlers Danlos and what you can expect. Here’s my thoughts!

I wanted to add that EDS can come in many different forms and with a range of limitations. The person who sent in this question is in a position to train for powerlifting, but I understand that many with EDS are not. I still believe that resistance training of some kind is one of the best forms of exercise to help people with EDS, but it needs to be implemented in the right amount, and the in right way, and at the right time. Not everyone can lift competitively, and even those who can/have, may not be able to at certain times (because of the way the condition fluctuates) but for those who are in a position to, this video is for you.

Note: This is an old video that I filmed during the Sydney lockdown in 2021.
