Pregnancy after HIFU for severe adenomyosis

This lady had severe posterior adenomyosis. She underwent IVF in another city. Frozen embryo transfer done failed. She was referred to me for HIFU for her adenomyosis. HIFU was performed February 2022. Controlled ablation was done and part of the posterior adenomyosis was ablated.

She was send back to her gynaecologist for frozen embryo transfer. Unfortunately the frozen embryo transfer was not successful.

She underwent another IVF cycle with me and this time, the embryo transfer worked. She conceived and delivered by Caesarean section recently.

I thank her for visiting me with their precious baby girl. I also thank her for this nice gift.

Since she still has some more frozen embryos, we are planning for another frozen embryo transfer next year. I have advised her to take dienogest to suppress the growth of the adenomyosis while waiting for the embryo transfer.

HIFU is an option for patients with adenomyosis having difficulty in conceiving.
