The Princess X80 is a genrebusting creation from the Plymouthbased yard that boasts a fivecabin layout on a boat of only 25m.

In this walkthrough tour and review of the Princess X80, filmed during the Düsseldorf Boat Show, Carl Richardson guides you through one of the most inventive models that Princess Yachts has made.

Borrowing the ‘super fly’ concept from its larger sister, the X95, the X80’s only helm is on the top deck with an upper saloon and aft deck stretching out behind. This leaves space on the main deck for either an extended living space that runs right forward to the windscreen or a main deck owner’s cabin. Sliding doors on the port side of the cabin lead directly to the foredeck, creating a semiprivate terrace for those using the cabin.

This leaves four further cabins on the lower deck, three of which are ensuite doubles. The fullbeam suite amidships becomes the owner’s cabin if you don’t opt for the main deck cabin.

With a pair of 1,900hp MAN V12 diesels, the X80’s performance is impressive and the boat will crack 30 knots.
