Though his concentration was mainly on Malayalam films, he also has done several films in Hindi (Bollywood), Tamil and Telugu. His most celebrated hits include Poochakkoru Mookkuthi, Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu, Thalavattam, Vellanakalude Nadu, Chithram, Vandanam, Kilukkam, Abhimanyu, Mithunam, Thenmavin Kombath, Kala Pani and lots more. In 2012, Indian government honoured him with Padma Shri award.
