Here's a high level overview of how I use EZDrummer, by Toontrack, to create drum parts for my original music. We'll remix the drums for one of my original songs, 'Upholder Of Benevolent Dementia'.

The original version of this song has blast beats and some fast runs, and I used the 'Metal Machine' expansion. This remixed version has a slower feel with more ride, and I'm using a threelayered approach with 'Metal Machine', 'Metal!' for the kick, and 'Drums Of Destruction' for the snare.

We'll cover the basics of the EZDrummer UI. We'll look at features like 'Tap2Find', 'Song Creator' and 'Edit Play Style'. These are all tools that can help you not just create a drum track, but to do songwriting as well.
