This 3d medical legal animation shows how previous surgeries on the lung and diaphragm reduce the ability to breathe effectively. Decreased lung function and chronic heart disease decrease the flow of blood through the heart and the supply of oxygen pumped out to the body. Continued problems with the pumping action of the heart leads to a backup of blood in the lungs leading to pulmonary edema as fluid collects in the lung tissue.
