For the successful project outcome, the engagement of stakeholders plays a vital role. You can engage them well if you make efforts to discover who all are they, what are their needs and what are their expectations. There can be many categories of stakeholders which may come but not limited to:
People who will use it
People can give subject matter knowledge
People who are funding the project
People who will receive business benefits
People who will implement the solution
People who are interested in the outcome and are involved in some way in the project

In summary, if someone has any form of interest in the project or is affected by the project outcome, they are your project’s stakeholders.
