Reuniting on a new large scale project, our design team was excited to embark on another collaborative process with these previous clients as we've done so before with their main residence and commercial office space. Project Sunset was a groundup new construction to revitalize a cherished heirloom cottage.

The intention of the design was to maintain the integrity of a cottage feel while infusing a modern sophistication. We crafted this careful balance through floor plans, custom millwork designs, material selection, furniture, lighting, and styling. We started by fully optimizing the lakeview with a double height ceiling in the great room that can also be appreciated by the open second floor loft. The 2storey fireplace is the connecting focal point amongst the spaces that welcomes you to draw in close, but not before the bar sets the tone inviting you to lounge and have a drink.

Character is found in every design detail from forged metal to exposed woods. Raw materials are balanced with sleeker finishes as an updated nod to traditional craftsmanship. Unifying with the light fixtures and art, contemporary furniture profiles and fabric patterns allude to a familiar cottage essence. The carried out vision was a lakeside retreat of their own where the pair could unwind, reconnect with each other and nature, and also be a gathering place to host family & friends.
