Till 2022 the general understanding was that the concept of Zone of consideration (ZoC) was not applicable in the promotion by "Nonselection". However, in May 2022, DoPT has issued an order regarding reservation in promotion of Persons with bench disability in which the concept of ZoC has been introduced in promotion by nonslelction too.
