Psychiatric First Aid: A Guide for Research Staff
Wednesday, October 6th, 2021
Zoom Webinar Recording

The mission of the Stanford Center for Clinical Research (SCCR) includes offering educational resources, training, and support for investigators and research staff. We have invited SCCR’s Postdoctoral research Fellow, Dr. Julio Nunes, MD, to provide you with an overview of the most common presentations of psychiatric syndromes that patients may present within the clinical research setting.

At the conclusion of this class, you will be able to:
Recognize the most common acute mental health syndromes
Mitigate risks for both participants and staff
Trace firstaid management of acute emergency situations
Elaborate ”safetyplans” for the patient to follow at home
Reflect upon personal biases regarding mental health disorders

Presenters:
Julio Nunes, MD
SCCR Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The SCCR Science Series is a 2hour lecture held monthly or bimonthly, covering various scientific and clinical topics with the specific aim to educate members of the clinical research community. We invite clinicians to discuss anatomy and physiology as well as pathophysiology of various therapeutic areas. Learn more: https://stan.md/2VjeBv3
