What is the Kingdom of God? The Gospel of Matthew has five discourses in which Jesus teaches us about the Kingdom. Many see the Kingdom Manifesto in the Beatitudes; they study them to understand it. Are they a path of individual growth? The description of a standard of holiness? A strategy for the church?

Scripture cannot be limited and lends itself to many insights. Every believer hopes for a better world, the church tries to motivate young people to fight for the actualization of the Kingdom. But Jesus points our eyes to the real life with which we have to deal, in order to understand who we are and what to do.

Many teens and young people may not feel at ease in their world, in their church; they are aware of the swirling forces that try to dominate the events of their life. But they can embrace the different and contrary force of the Kingdom of God and discover that, when they surrender to this force, a journey of passion and blessed resilience begins.
