For the start of the European News of the World Tour, the band has returned to the Johanneshovs Isstadion in Sweden's capital city just like they did almost a year before on the Races Tour. They wouldn't return to this city again until 1982. After such a long break in between legs (almost four months), Freddie's voice hasn't only reformed to its original form but he grew in confidence, making this a vital tour for his future career on stage. Additionally, the band have decided to change up their set a little with one really unfortunate decision: "Liar" is dropped for most nights of the tour and would never be played consistently again, only popping up on two more tours afterwards. "It's Late" has taken its permanent spot, being played after "Spread Your Wings" on all following shows. "Now I'm Here" also changes its position as it's now played before the acoustic set as heard on some of the earlier November shows, a set position it would hold on to through most of their live career with few exceptions in 1982 and all of 1986. And last but not least, "Sheer Heart Attack" is slightly longer on the European tour, finally giving the band some room for improvisation.
