Quieten your 3D printer with stepper motor dampers: Ender 3 tests

Teaching Tech

Stepper motor dampers are appearing more and more on 3D printer upgrade lists, particularly the Ender 3. I thought I would take the plunge and do some back to back testing to see if they quieten the machine in a worthwhile way.

Two models, same filament (X3D), same gcode. One to test print quality and another to provoke overheating. Sound, temperature and quality are compared directly for your benefit.

UPDATE: I wouldn't recommend these anymore. They still work but it's easier to change the mainboard to an SKR mini E3.
