►About Quinta da Regaleira, Sintra Portugal
Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra, Portugal, is mysterious and magical. Nestled in the heart of the town, the 19thcentury estate is surrounded by lush gardens filled with exotic plants and flowers.
It was built in the early 20th century by a wealthy Brazilian businessman named António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro. Monteiro was a collector of art and rare objects and used the Quinta da Regaleira as a showcase for his collection.
At the center of the Quinta da Regaleira stands the stunning palace, a masterpiece of architecture and design.
ut the real attraction of the Quinta da Regaleira is its underground tunnels and caves. These mysterious passages were once used for initiation rites by secret societies, and their secrets remain hidden. Visitors can explore the tunnels and caves, discovering hidden chambers and passageways as they go.

If you drive, there is parking down the street from the main entrance and the fee to enter is €10.00/€5.00/€4.00/€25.00 (adult/child/senior/family), and this includes entrance to the house and the grounds.
