In response to the arrest of former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), party cadres launched protests in Pokhara on Saturday morning around 11:30 am at Human Rights Chowk in Chipledhunga.

Carrying placards and banners, RSP leaders and supporters took to the streets, vocally opposing the government's actions. Districtlevel leaders addressed the crowd, delivering speeches as the protest intensified.

Lamichhane was apprehended on Friday by a Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) team at the party's central office in Kathmandu. He was subsequently taken by road to the District Police Office in Kaski.

A sevenmember parliamentary special committee formed to investigate the cooperatives scam recommended further inquiry into Lamichhane's involvement in cooperative fraud and organized crime. He faces allegations of misappropriating funds from a cooperative while serving as the executive director of the Gorkha Media Network.

Supporters of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have protested in Pokhara and Kathmandu against the arrest of their Chairman, Rabi Lamichhane. The RSP claims that Lamichhane was arrested as political revenge.

The police have said that Lamichhane will be presented in court tomorrow as today is a public holiday.
