The newlook No. 19 North Carolina Tar Heels picked up an 8670 victory to start the season against a solid Radford squad. Carolina shot 52% from the floor en route to the win. Armando Bacot had a strong start to the season, putting up 25 points, 13 rebounds and a pair of blocks. Cormac Ryan and RJ Davis added 13 points apiece, while Harrison Ingram dropped 12. Freshman Elliot Cadeau had 5 points and 6 assists in his debut.
