Jagannath Rath Yatra: The Unknown Reason Behind Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra


The Gopis of Vrindavan did not like the way Krishna was living in Dvaraka because there he was living an opulent life and was being treated like God, a Royal King with Chariots, Soldiers, Ministers and Secretaries BUT in Vrindavan Lord krishna got pure and immense love of everyone and used to live a very lovable life among his friends, cows, mother yashoda, Gopis. He was stealing, playing, and enjoying while in Dvaraka his life was noway close to this.

When even after the Request of Srimati Radha Rani, Lord Krishna could not come come to Vrindavan, the Gopis of Vrindavan decided to take krishna in the chariot of their mind. Thus they all took krishna to Vrindavan in a chariot of their mind. Thus also the Rath Yatra of Jagannath Puri, where gundicha temple symbolizes Vrindavan and the yatra symbolizes the Yatra of Krishna from Dvaraka to Vrindavan. The Devotees who take part in this yatra gather great piousness and those who pull the rope of rath of Lord Jagannath to go to gundicha temple (Vrindavan) gets special mercy of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani.

Another reason for rath yatra is the extreme mercyfulness of lord Krishna for those who are unable to get darshan of lord in temple.
As per the rules of jagannath puri temple, Not everyone is allowed to enter the temple, like people from any religion other than hindism or foreign county. And so lord jagannath baladev and subhadra ji themself come out of their temple on road each year to play and mingle up with their devotees. Where there is only one rule and that is love of God.
