Vocal Maestro Ustad Tanveer Ahmed Khan was born into a musical family of Dilli Gharana at Mausiqui Manzil in Darya Ganj, Delhi.

He started learning classical music at the early age of 4 years from Late Ustad Chand Khan. After him, he learned from his grandfather Late Ustad Usman Khan and later on from his father "Sangeet Samraat". "Taan Samraat" Late Ustad Naseer Ahmed Khan (Well renowned Legendry vocal maestro of Dilli Gharana).
He has lived in Delhi from his childhood and has done his schooling from St. James School which is in Munirka, New Delhi. After the death of Ut. Naseer Ahmed Khan in 1986, Ut. Tanveer Ahmed Khan continued his musical training from various maestros of Dilli Gharana such as Ut. Zafar Ahmed Khan, Ut. Zahoor Ahmed Khan and Ut. Hilal Ahmed Khan. In 1994, He started learning from Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan (Current Khalifa/Doyen of Dilli Gharana).

Highly talented artist Ustad Tanveer Ahmed Khan has given many successful performances in various cities of india and abroad also such as Australia, Holland, U.A.E, Bangladesh, Pakistan and many gulf countries. He has performed with maestros like Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Jasraj, Ut. Amjad ali khan, Ut. Zakir Hussain, Ut. Rashid khan, Pt. Debu chaudhary, Pt. LK pandit, Pt. Bhajan Sapori, Ut. Aashish Khan, Dr. Prabha atre, Ut. Shahid parvez, Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt, Shubha Mudgal and many great artists of India.

He has also performed for many prestigious societies like Shree Harivallabh Sangeet Samaroh, Sahitya kala parishad, Sangeet Natak Academy, Asawari, Haridas Tansen mahautsav, Sahmat, SA MA PA, UPTA, Malhar maha utsav (Gwalior), Ut. Bade Ghulam ali Khan yaadgar sabha, Kaashi Baithak and many more.

His rich voice is well known for his versatile style of classical, unique taans and his rendering of thumri, dadra, tappa, tarana, bhajans, sufi and ghazals. He has won many prizes in music competitions like Sahitya kala parishad All India Classical Music Competition, Shaanevirasat, Begum Akhtar Award, Prince of Taan, Surmani, Kala Shree, Sangeet Ratna, Sangeet Shiromani and many more.
