Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday met floodaffected people in Assam's Cachar district before going to violencehit Manipur later in the day. He arrived in Silchar and was felicitated by Congress leaders from Assam and Manipur at the airport. The Gandhi scion then went to Fulertal and interacted with the floodaffected people living in relief camps. This is Rahul Gandhi's first visit to the Northeast after becoming the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.

The camp is on the route that Rahul Gandhi will take to Manipur's Jiribam district, he said.
