Very rare film footage from the Seaton Family who spent their summer holiday here in Beesands and Hallsands in 1938 and filmed the villages of Beesands and Hallsands. Only recently has David Seaton made his family holiday of 1938 available.
Its hard to appreciate the very next year that England would declare war on Germany and every bodies lives would change forever.
Sadly Beesands was bombed by the Germans during wartime and several villages lost their lives. Hallsands also suffered during the D. Day training exercises in 1944. The Trout Sisters Hotel was taken over by the Americans and the sisters were forced to live in a shed at the rear of their new hotel.
