Join our producer as he goes behind the scenes with Pilot and crew of the Lewis Air Legends Douglas A20 Havoc. The team, from San Antonio, Texas has been coming to Freeport, Illinois since July of 2016 when, in on its Maiden voyage to Oshkosh, the A20 had engine failure forcing it to land in Freeport.

The crew has made 5 trips to Freeport since then replacing two engines and doing a complete annual inspection on the historic plane. Our producer spent some time with the crew as they made final preparations to complete A20’s mission to make it to Oshkosh.

The WWII light bomber, stored at the Albertus Airport for nearly a year, is the only known airworthy A20 in the world. The plane made its final departure from Freeport today, on Mother's Day 2017 for Oshkosh.
