RARE Consolidated PB4Y-2 Privateer ACTION!

Follow
AeroDinosaur

This video summarizes all you might like to know about the usuallyoverlooked derivative of the Consolidated B24 Liberator strategic bomber—the U.S. Navy (and later Coast Guard) PB4Y2 and 2G Privateer maritime attack and reconnaissance aircraft. As with all our AeroDinosaur productions, you will get a plate full of evolutionary, technical and historical background information on the aircraft (including civilian STC modifications) as well as modernday operational footage. In this case, we sample the operations of the only PB4Y2 that flies today—a reengined exU.S. Coast Guard PB4Y2G (N2871G) as maintained and flown by premiere warbird restorer GossHawk, Unlimited out of Casa Grande, Arizona. We caught them on a June 2022 visit for an event at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in St. Louis County, Missouri.
