Restoration of an vintage German Air Gun from Heyms produced in the late 50s. caliber .177. I will restore this vintage beauty and do a full shooting test.

THE AIR GUN
This Air gun is manufactured by F. W. Heym GmbH & Co. K.G. of Münnerstadt in Germany. Is a .177 caliber (4.5mm) pop out air pistol. There was only produced around 1500 of these in the time from 1949 to 1956, so it is quite rare to see one these days. The German company still exists as Heym AG and produce handcrafted, luxurious firearms. I got this beauty from my local antique dealer who had it for a long time in he's garage.

THE RESTORATION PROCESS
I disassembled the Air gun and cleaned the metal using aluminiumoxide as my sandblasting media. I also used vinegar, and the mini tumbler to all the small parts. I blackened all the small parts used heat and oil. I used black heat resistance spray paint on the gun.

There was only half a handle on the gun when I got it, so I had to craft 2 new very simple handles of Swedish oak. I gave the gun two new sealing rings and a new spring to hold the trigger. After I cleaned the barrel, I did a test shoot in the garage.
