Rava Idli/Semolina/Suji Idli / South Indian Instant Sponge Rava Idli -Recipe No 162

Ingredients
Rava 1 1/2 cup
Curd1 cup
Baking soda1tsp
Salt
Sesame oil2tbsp
Mustard seeds1/4tsp
Grated carrot1/2 cup
Green chilli1 chopped
Coriander leaves few chopped
Urad dal1/4 tsp
Chana dal1tsp
Hing/kayam podiless than 1/4 tsp

Method

In a kadai heat oil splutter mustard seeds, urad dal and then add chana dal and roast in medium flame
Then add grated carrot, green chilli , leaves and saute till raw smell goes
Now add rawa and roast for 23minutes
In a vessel add beaten curd along with roasted rava mix
mix well
Then add salt and 1 cup of water
soak for 20 minutes
Then check the water consistency
I added 1/4 glass more water .. so u add accordingly
heat the steamer and get ready
so just b4 making idly add baking soda and mix
then immediately pour batter in the mould
fill 3/4 th portion or it will spill
steam for 10 min or until cooked well
serve with spicy Tomato , coconut chutney
from this measurement I made 16 idli
