This video discusses reciprocating air compressors, first outlining how the compression process appears on a PV diagram and secondly discussing how the actual indicator diagram may differ from the ideal indicator diagram.

Having introduced the process, calculations are carried out for volumetric efficiency, polytropic work, isothermal work, isothermal efficiency, free air delivery (FAD) and compressor power consumption.
