Clarksville Crossing Dental

If you had your tooth extracted, you may be concerned about what to do next. Here's a simple checklist for the first few days :

Leave the office with dental gauze in your mouth, you need to bite it until you get home . Then, examine it to check if you are not actively bleeding and no longer need to hold pressure or if a new gauze is required.
Hold an ice pack on the side that was worked on for 20 minutes, remove it for 10 minutes, and then reapply for another 20 minutes. ❄
If you are no longer bleeding you can have soft food . Avoid hard and crunchy food on the side where the tooth was extracted.
Avoid alcohol and smoking in the first 3 to 4 days.
Brush your teeth on the night of the extraction and rinse gently with just water. The next day, gently rinse the area with warm salt water. You can do this 23 times a day for the first 45 days.
Take all medications prescribed by your dentist.
