Rehab for Tennis Elbow | Theraband Flexbar

Jason Williams DC Chiropractic and Rehab

I’ll explain and demo rehab for tennis elbow using the Theraband Flexbar. Rehab exercises for Tennis Elbow should 100% be a part of any treatment strategy you try, whether it's chiropractic care, physical therapy, or orthopedic medical care.

Tennis elbow is also known as "lateral epicondylitis", "elbow tendonitis", or "lateral epicondylopathy" and is a painful irritation of wrist extension muscles found on the back and side of the forearm. You DO NOT have to play tennis to have this injury (although 4050% of tennis players will have it at one point) and it's commonly brought on by activities that cause repetitive wrist extension.

Others who might suffer include those in manual labor like carpentry or bricklaying, musicians, or office workers using a computer mouse frequently. It's the most common elbow injury and affects 13% of people each year, and is equally common in both men and women typically in their 40s and 50s.

Symptoms include pain in the back and side of the elbow, pain with resisted wrist extension and middle finger extension. There are a number of other conditions, most notably radial tunnel syndrome, that can cause similar symptoms. Because of this, it's important to have your elbow examined if symptoms have been persistent or are not relieved by home care.

The rehab tool I'm using here is the Theraband Flexbar. I like the green one, it gives a challenging resistance for most people, but not too challenging that it aggravates your elbow too much.

You can buy the Theraband Flexbars I use in this video AND in my clinic here:
