Smash has seen a whole lot of fighters across its history, with a variety of design ideas going into them. Guest fighters in particular often feel like they walked right out of their home series, with physics and mechanics designed to feel as close to their original gameplay as possible. However...it doesn't always happen that way.

Sometimes things don't go according to plan, and a certain blue hedgehog is proof of itfor various reasons, Sonic's gameplay in Smash has never quite clicked. His moveset, while inspired by his games (Sonic the Fighters especially), still feels like it misses its potential. And through various quirks and oversights, his optimal playstyle for a long time has been to run away from opponents and slow down matches in a way that feels completely outofcharacter!

But what if we could do something about that? Let's remake Sonic's design as a Smash fighter, retooling and overhauling his moves and abilities to be truer to character, more fun to play as, and less infuriating to play against!
