I have been writing notes all my life as a student and then as a professional. In 2017 I started to write my notes digitally, and in 2020 I switched from the iPad Pro with Apple Pencil using the Notability app to the Remarkable and then the Remarkable 2.

My primary reason for switching was my eyes; I think the switch from face to face meetings to constant online meetings in lockdown took its toll on my eye health and my eyes felt like they were getting strained. Although the scientific evidence is weak that eink reduces eye strain, the change to the Remarkable to help my eyes worked wonderfully and I suffer from much less eye strain now.

My secondary reason was as the Remarkable 2 is a single purpose device there are no distractions no pings no emails no temptations to look at social media. This change to the Remarkable is part of a digital minimalism journey I am on, and it is working well if you can call more devices digital minimalism.

Having used this device for several months, I decided to create this review from a professionals perspective who is in meetings for hours a day and needs a reliable device to take notes on.

I hope you find this review useful and if you are interested in any comparison reviews, please let me know in the comments.
