Removing Hartzell Prop

Follow
Bertha Blue

Bertha Blue is a 1954 Beechcraft B50 Twin Bonanza. You can follow her posts at   / berthablue110841424688012  . Bertha has GO480 engines, "G" representing geared, so the prop does not bolt directly on the crankshaft. The output shaft from the engine has 20 splines on it. Both props are due inspection and no one seemed to know how these props are removed, nor did I find a video on YouTube, so after locating the Hartzell manual (the manual really sucks it's 400+ pages and covers 30 props, only about 12 pages are useful), I started asking the prop shops how to pull them. San Antonio Propeller, where Bertha's will be going, has a knowledgeable staff and they are a wealth of knowledge. This is my first video, so throw all the rocks you want to, it is what it is. If you can't hear me, the piston nut is 36 mm and the spring retainer is 5/8". Any questions I'll answer the best I can. Please click on subscribe. I intend to continue to post videos as I progress through Bertha's restoration.
