Easily learn the renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS) in this stepbystep animated guide.
The renin angiotensin aldosterone system is one of the body's mechanisms to improve blood pressure in a hypotensive state. Using renin, angiotensinogen, angiotensin I, angiotensin II, and angiotensin converting enzyme, the renin angiotensin aldosterone system leads to vasoconstriction, antidiuretic hormone (ADH)/vasopressin release, aldosterone release, and sodium and water kidney reabsorption.
The renin angiotensin aldosterone system works synergistically with the sympathetic nervous system to increase blood pressure.
