Replica 1873 44/40 200gr cast GOEX
There is something super appealing about shooting black powder out of a lever gun. The Winchester Model 1873 rifle was introduced with the .44/40 chambering as its only cartridge for the first few years and that is why most of the very early Model ’73s were not marked with any caliber indication.

Thankfully corporations like Uberti and Chaparral are manufacturing Winchester 1873 replica's today and we don't need to spend horrendous amounts of money to find an original Winchester. I think some of these replica rifles could use some polishing to slick them up and remove burrs. As you can see the lever throw is a bit 'grabby' on this carbine model and hangs up sometimes so I had to be somewhat forceful with it.

The good news is that all that BP smoke and Sulphur smell really helps with repelling mosquitoes! Tons of fun!
