Restless legs syndrome (RLS)

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a condition that causes an uncontrollable urge to move the legs due to an uncomfortable feeling.

It usually happens in the evening or at night when you are sitting or lying down.

Temporarily moving eases the unpleasant feeling.

Symptoms
* Sensations that begin at rest
* Relief with movement
* Worsening symptoms in the evening
* Nighttime leg twitching
* Leg (or arm) discomfort
* Urge to move legs (or arms

Risk factors
* RLS can develop at any age, even in childhood
* Peripheral neuropathy
* Iron deficiency
* Kidney failure
* Spinal cord conditions
* Parkinson's disease
