This is a Necchi 523.07 that I restored this year. I made this video because while there is plenty of information online and on YouTube about the various Supernovas, there is very little anywhere on this particular model. I have never seen a Supernova in person but they appear to share a lot of parts with the 523.
The best information I have found says it was one of the last models made in Italy, in the late 60's or very early 70's. It should not be confused with a later Necchi model that shared the name 523 but was very different in appearance. I got it in the USA from the daughter of the original owner, who said that it had been unused since the 1980's and that her mother was a very accomplished seamstress.
This is my first Necchi and only the second vintage sewing machine I have restored. When I was working on the 523 the videos with closeups of the mechanical details were the most helpful so that is what I have tried to do here.
