All the parts of the soundboard on both sides are back in place and now it’s being glued back in the instrument. Work on the action is in progress, a new hammer shank is being made. Repairs at the music desk.

Since 2019 the Carl Bechstein Foundation in Berlin is building up a collection of historical keyboard instruments, reflecting the history of the piano. All instruments will be in perfect playing condition and in this filmseries you'll see the whole proces of a restoration, starting from a total wreck. This fortepiano was built around 1795 in Vienna by Ferdinand Hofmann (17561829).
