n the 90s, the charismatic movement came to the forefront rapidly and became the main attraction of church culture over the next decade. As a result, conferences became the order of the day for 90s church culture: WTAL, Dominion Camp Meeting, Azusa, Megafest, etc. These and many others, were all conferences where you could find good singing & great preaching. However, before you could go to these conferences or any other denominational gatherings/conventions birthed during that time, there was one premiere place where you could go to surely find the BEST exhibition of preaching, especially within the black church context: The National Baptist Convention USA LateNight services. These services premiered voices such as Donald Parsons, E.V. Hill, Frank E. Ray, Leroy Elliot, Joe Hughes, Paul Morton, and of course the one and only, Jasper Williams, Jr. Check out this snippet from one of his latenight sermons!
