Rexing A1 Motorcycle Camera Test Run

John Newyen was nice enough to let me test their latest Rexing A1 Motorcycle Camera. Rexing is pretty well known for their dash cams, so their execution of a motorcycle action camera was really compelling. I took it for a test run. This is definitely designed to be mounted to the side of your helmet as the rear camera is aimed down a bit as a camera on your helmet will need to be aimed slightly down about 30 degrees to get the right angle. This means the rear camera needs to aim slightly down to see straight behind you so as not to look at the sky. Nicely thought out!

Overall the camera's biggest benefit is the form factor. It's frontal profile is smaller and narrower than my GoPro Session 5 on my chin mount. There is a bit of a learning curve in settings to get it to record like a go pro. I'll have to do more testing with it to get it right as I didn't get the rear peg mounted camera to capture while in motion.

Note the shaky vibration is due to mounting on my mirror stem which gets quite a bit of vibration. The camera as you can see is really sharp when on a fixed position like it was on my rear pegs.

Note this is not a 360 camera, but an action camera X2 so you can see both front and back action. The files save as 2 separate files. Essentially they took their front and rear dashcam tech and crammed it into this tiny form factor which is impressive.
