On 26th, June 2019, after the babtism of HG 4/4#704, two trains, the red train and the blue train were driving over Furka Pass behind HG 4/4#704 and HG 3/4 BFD #9 from Oberwald to Realp. In Gletsch, the two engines swapped the trains. On Furka Pass, there was still some snow left. Enjoy!
The Furka Mountain Railway is meter gauge and operates between Oberwald and Realp. To deal with a 11.8% grade it utilizes a cog wheel. The line is 17km long.
