The church dedicated to the martyr saint Alexander in Bergamo has a concert of twelve bells, considered one of the best bell concerts in Italy. The concert is pitched on the A major scale, with the addition of two semitones to form musical chords. The bell tower was built between 1842 and 1905 and is the tallest in the entire city.

In this video, the ten bells are rung during the city of Bergamo's festival, using the concert technique that consists of raising and lowering them at regular intervals, creating precise and traditional synchrony that changes in every bell tower in northern Italy. The eight original major bells were cast in 1905 in Valtellina, the other four bells were requisitioned during the Second World War and paid for new by the state as war damage. The bell concert is the largest in the region, with a total weight of 11940 kg.

The first church was built in the 6th century on the site of the murder of the legionary Alexander, who disobeyed the emperor's command to kill Christians and was therefore beheaded on 26 August 303. The medieval church mentioned in a document from 1133 collapsed in the early 15th century, rebuilt in 1447, visited by Saint Charles Borromeo and rebuilt in 1739 in Baroque style. The church has three excellent pipe organs.
